NOW WELCOMING SUBMISSIONS FOR MCM'S 2025 WINTER AND 2026 SPRING ISSUES!

You don’t need to be a professional writer or have everything perfectly polished. We care about authenticity, curiosity, and lived experience.

Spring 2026: January 1st, 2026
Summer 2026: April 1st, 2026

Guidelines

What We're Looking For

We publish stories and visuals rooted in cannabis culture, sustainability, and community.

Some themes we love:

  • Growing or working with the plant

  • Local makers, food, art, and events

  • Personal journeys with cannabis

  • Policy, advocacy, and history

  • DIY projects, guides, and rituals

We Accept:

  • Articles

  • Photo essays or visual stories

  • Personal essays and interviews

  • Tips, how-tos, and creative takes

You don’t need to fit into a specific category. If your idea connects to the spirit of Montana Cannabis Magazine, we’re open.

How to Pitch

For articles

Pitch length: 200–250 words

  • A quick summary of your idea

  • Why you're the one to write it (lived experience, personal or professional insight)

  • Optional, but encouraged: an article title, links to any relevant work, or social media

  • Please ensure that you’ve had friends or family edit the pitch (we should not be the first to review your work).

For visual pieces:

Photo, painting, illustration, etc. series

  • A brief description of what you want to create

  • Sample images if available (phone shots are fine!)

  • Please use original, high-quality files—no downloads from social

Not sure if your idea fits? Just ask. We’re happy to talk it through.

Please pitch first—don’t send a full article unless we ask for it.
